the long term of btc can only be one, the blockchain tech is here to stay. the question is, will it linger for much more, or decide to jump even before the end of july deadline?

@fineregex, looking from TA, you're right. but also, in a rising market, TA breaks, simple as that. that's where fundamentals kick in. blockchain tech is here to stay, it's a revolution in finance comparable to what internet did to communications.
long term, we are early adopters, for the big world out there to use blockchain finance, in broad and global terms, fiat needs to be converted to crypto, and btc (and 1tier alts) are the only "gateways". corporate adoption, third world bankless poplutation leapfrogging tradicional banks, just like they did with mobile/land lines, trustless wallets, distributed exchange tech, the list goes on...
oh, and i, a first world CS engineer, already cringe when i have to do a bank transfer. the delays. transfers halted on non-work days(they must switch off the AS400). the details required, up to my blood type and last time i got laid. i will go crypto bankless as soon as the tech/service level matches the traditional banking. and it's getting closer, and fast. what better indicator could you have? ;)
so, it's just inevitable. for global use, total crypto market cap needs about 50x higher than today, to become mainstream. do the math.... ;)
it will be a bumpy ride, sure. but it will continue for many months. years. Amazon rising from 0.97$ to 1k$ wasn't a smooth hill also, right? ;)

Yea, hard to say. The trends are solid, but the fundamentals are the main variable right now it seems.

@ethmoonbase, Segwit will be a success. I don't worry one bit. Segwit is activated in many coins already, never had problems anywhere.

@nakov, also, miners have to much at stake. btc attacked by eth, xmr, all the ico scene, coins 2.0
they have to keep up, or all their investment will be good only for melting and recycling. :D
this is just regular volatility period after a huge rising trend
@nakov, Thats not really the same Segwit, its Segwit v2 or something and its not even tested yet.

@snakeat3r, segwit v2 or sometihing, aka segwitx2, is segwit. is already tested and running on multiple other coins, including LTC, and x2 is the 2MB block increase which will trigger 3 months after on the BIP148 chain. in case there will be more than one.... ;)
