Your scenarios is entirely possible - and based on a sound assessment. There are different ways of looking at the markets and no one way is right. I tend to follow trends, though I have the respect for harmonic patterns.
From my perspective, the uptrend on the weekly and daily USDCAD is not over. If the harmonics take over, I'd love it - cuz I'd just follow the trend in a different direction.
