It's close to spring and corn is about to break out of a triangle.
I could see how people will be flocking to Corn in March-April-May-June as you can clearly see that Corn hasn't had the excessive volatility that stocks and bonds have had this year so far.
Corn looks like a peaceful lake compared to a tsunami and a typhoon over in the equity and bond markets.
Either way, look for "planting intentions" and lots of forecasts to make corn POP in the next few weeks.
All the best,
Tim

I'm not sure why the background is red when the idea is profitable so far... but maybe there is a bug.

Did anyone get the popcorn humor?

It's working like a charm, so far.

Still on track

After a sharp breakdown on huge planting intentions, corn is on a tear right along the forecasted path.

It just keeps going along the forecasted (guessed) path.

Hi Tim,
I am rather new here and wanted to ask a question...I am assuming you are suggesting to take a call position but what time frame? 1 week out 2 weeks??
Thanks,
Curt

My question also. Tim is good, but we need a timeframe. A broke clock
Is right twice a day.

I surely don't like being called a "broke clock"... ouch.

Through the end of May and into June, just as it is labeled. You can see the progression of price that I am forecasting (imagining). So pick your time and price and your risk tolerance level and go with it.
Do you see other people outline how they foresee the "time and price for a move" like I do?

If anyone is wondering I have been long the Sept 440 calls that I bought for ~ $400 apiece. After today's 9.6 cent move they are valued at $685. If corn moves up to $5 as I think it can these options would be worth $3,00 each so I'm hoping that is what happens. The combination of heavy rain in Texas and little rain in Brazil and the Midwest corn belt is the main cause; plus there is a HUGE short position in corn which can really make prices move up if momentum continues. We might be short term over bought now but that's why I like options- I can hold on for the major move.
