Sopharma Trading to introduce Italy's Angiodroid product on Bulgarian market

SOFIA (Bulgaria), December 7 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian pharmaceuticals retailer Sopharma Trading [BUL:SFT] said it has entered into a collaboration with Italian medical technology company Angiodroid to introduce Angiodroid’s automatic carbon dioxide injector systems to the Bulgarian market.

The technology enables the automatic injecting of carbon dioxide into the blood vessels. The gas acts as a contrast agent allowing imaging of blood vessels in patients with vascular conditions.

The solution could be particularly used in patients who are intolerant to standard iodine contrast agents. It is also fully applicable in milder clinical cases, Sopharma Trading said in a press release on Tuesday.

Carbon dioxide is absorbed by the vascular system seconds after each intervention and is harmless, it explained. At the same time, the clinical images provide high contrast quality comparable to images obtained by using an iodine contrast.
