TheLark LMA (Laguerre) v2 - multi timeframe

Apple Inc.NASDAQ

Mô tả

What's new?
v2 has added multi timeframe support.
Blatantly stole Chris Moody's code for multi timeframe, because why re-invent the wheel? Thanks Chris ;P
BUT -- modified the coloring to work correctly with higher timeframes, just another Lark hack, so it's a give and take :)

The Laguerre Average (filter) was discovered by John Ehlers.
It's a newer type of averaging that is meant to take out as much of the
inherent lag that your typical EMA and SMA's give at the start of a major trend change.
So what you get is an average that turns more quickly at major trend changes,
and doesn't get tripped up on the noise (as much).

TheLark...AKA "The Coding Genius" is BACK....

If you stole an idea from me...it's a compliment...

Times TheLark Stole From ChrisMoody = 1
Time ChrisMoody Stole from The Lark = Every Code I've Ever Written....Well maybe I can take credit for one...The time I actually coded a Simple Moving Average All By Myself!!!

Firstly, thanks for this indicator - I've been sent down the rabbit hole of the fundamental mathematics of this indicator and it's very interesting!

Secondly, I've been trying to apply this to 1 minute Renko charts looking at a greater (3h for example) timeframe. I open long on the blue and short on the red. The strategy backtests very well, but I can't seem to get alerts to trigger. Am I missing something? Here's my modified version of your code to include alerts: hastebin.com/soroyoruli.makefile

Appreciate it :)
TheLark
Hey @Darkthrone2, I 'm sorry but I don't use renko enough to know it's intricacies when it comes to pine scripting for it. I do know that renko repaint, so your backtest results may be skewed. Something I might try is using the open or close of a bar as the signal. Sorry I couldn't be of more help!

Hi,
the indicator no longer works in 1, 2, 3 and 4 hours
it worked until the tradingview update that took place today.

Hello, and thank you for the interesting work! I'm very new to trading, can I ask for a couple of things?
1. Could MTF functionality be coded into one indicator, so as not to apply two?
2. Could the ability to build bands around this filter be of use? I think so.
Thank you in advance.

P.S. In all MTF indicators I came across I never can choose 4h option (no matter which browser etc.) - is that an issue with me, or sth related to TV?
TheLark
Hi @kiero, yes both question one and two are possible. I encourage you to dive in to the code and experiment, there is no better way of learning! I have noticed this MTF issue as well, it is a TV limitation (I'm not sure why!)
kiero
@TheLark, thanks a lot! I'm not into coding - perhaps yet, as I haven't started serious trading either. Keep up the good work!
Maybe the 4H issue could be flagged to TV coders...
