Amazon has many rivals in China, Alibaba (the biggest) amongst others.

Who knows, if China do opens up this market, would Alibaba still dominate the market or would Alibaba become a dominant competitor ? Since Amazon lost its market share in China, now they could rival Alibaba in India if they took up this offer.
