RSI : to determine where is the price trend is (you can see that the rsi works with the price chart ,when rsi makes a low the price makes a low)
and to determine where the divergence is, the light blue lines on the rsi.
The two light blue lines on the graph who maybe few observed when you saw this ideea , are 2 points of divergence ( if you don't know what that is look it up ) its the trend (rsi) who diverge from the price chart (when the price made a new high on the 12/12 /2017 the rsi actually didn't signal another high , but a
