SM will buy it up at bargain prices.. they will accumulate. There are a few ways that SM will force the hand of retail. Allowing prices to fall is an attempt to shake out any weak handed holders.
Once it is determined that the supply pressure is diminsihed and that there is a path of least resistance, is only when mark-up phase will initiate.
