Sensex Falls for 2nd Session
The BSE Sensex dropped over 350 points, or 0.5% to close at 72,790.13 on Monday, extending losses for the second day, mainly due to profit-taking and tracking a cautious mood in global markets.
Asian Paints was the main dragger, falling 3.9%, extending losses since Grasim's announcement of entry into the paints business.
Tech companies, financials and steel companies were also among the worst performers.
Meanwhile, traders awaited a series of economic data this week, including the US PCE price indexes for January, the Fed’s preferred inflation measures, due on Thursday.
