Rolling ATR Bands | Flux Charts💎 GENERAL OVERVIEW
Introducing the Rolling ATR Bands indicator! This indicator overlays adaptive bands around the price, using the Average True Range (ATR) to define dynamic support and resistance levels. The Rolling ATR Bands are color-coded to visually indicate potential trend strength, shifting between bearish, neutral, and bullish colors. This tool can help traders interpret price volatility, as well as identify probable trend changes, continuations, or reversals. For more information about the process, check the "HOW DOES IT WORK ?" section.
Features of the new Rolling ATR Bands:
ATR Bands With Customizable ATR Length & Multiplier
Smooth Trend Strength With Adjustable Smoothing Options
Color-coded bands Representing Bearish, Neutral, or Bullish Trends
Alerts for Retests & Breaks
Customizable Visuals
📌 HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Rolling ATR Bands indicator calculates the ATR based on the specified length and multiplier to form upper and lower bands around the price. These bands adapt with market volatility, widening during high volatility and contracting during lower volatility periods.
In addition, the indicator calculates a "trend strength" score by combining an interpolated RSI, Supertrend, and EMA crossover. This score is smoothed with a customizable length, and a color gradient is applied to visually denote the strength of bearish, neutral, or bullish conditions.
Here's how to interpret the bands:
Upper Band: Acts as dynamic resistance; when price approaches or touches it, this often suggests potential overbought conditions.
Lower Band: Acts as dynamic support; touching or nearing this band might indicate potential oversold conditions.
Color Shifts: Color changes indicate shifts in trend direction. For example, a green color suggests a bullish trend, while red hints at bearish tendencies.
🚩 UNIQUENESS
What sets the Rolling ATR Bands apart is the combined use of interpolated RSI, Supertrend, and EMA cross values, creating a weighted trend strength score. This integration allows for nuanced, color-coded visual cues that respond quickly to trend changes without excessive noise, offering traders an intuitive view of both trend direction and potential momentum. You can also set up alerts for retest & alerts for upper and lower bands to get informed of potential movements.
⚙️ SETTINGS
1. General Configuration
ATR Length : Controls the ATR calculation length for the bands.
Smoothing: Adjusts the trend strength smoothing to control sensitivity to trend changes.
ATR Multiplier : Sets the width of the bands by multiplying the ATR value.
Trend Smoothing : Higher settings will result in longer periods of time required for trend to change direction from bullish to bearish and vice versa.

Intraday Volatility Bands [Honestcowboy]The Intraday Volatility Bands aims to provide a better alternative to ATR in the calculation of targets or reversal points.
How are they different from ATR based bands?
While ATR and other measures of volatility base their calculations on the previous bars on the chart (for example bars 1954 to 1968). The volatility used in these bands measure expected volatility during that time of the day.
Why would you take this approach?
Markets behave different during certain times of the day, also called sessions.
Here are a couple examples.
Asian Session (generally low volatility)
London Session (bigger volatility starts)
New York Session (overlap of New York with London creates huge volatility)
Generally when using bands or channel type indicators intraday they do not account for the upcoming sessions. On London open price will quickly spike through a bollinger band and it will take some time for the bands to adjust to new volatility.
This script will show expected volatility targets at the start of each new bar and will not adjust during the bar. It already knows what price is expected to do at this time of day.
Script also plots arrows when price breaches either the top or bottom of the bands. You can also set alerts for when this occurs. These are non repainting as the script knows the level at start of the bar and does not change.
🔷 CALCULATION
Think of this script like an ATR but instead it uses past days data instead of previous bars data. Charts below should visualise this more clearly:
The scripts measure of volatility is based on a simple high-low.
The script also counts the number of bars that exist in a day on your current timeframe chart. After knowing that number it creates the matrix used in it's calculations and data storage.
See how it works perfectly on a lower timeframe chart below:
Getting this right was the hardest part, check the coding if you are interested in this type of stuff. I commented every step in the coding process.
🔷 SETTINGS
Every setting of the script has a tooltip but I provided a breakdown here:

Directional ATROANDA:EURUSD
TLDR: A custom volatility indicator that combines Average True Range with candle direction.
The Directional ATR (DATR) is an indicator that enhances the traditional Average True Range (ATR) by incorporating the direction of the candle (bullish or bearish).
This indicator is designed to help traders identify trend strength, potential trend reversals, and market volatility.
Key Features:
Trend Confirmation: Positive and increasing DATR values suggest a bullish trend, while negative and decreasing values indicate a bearish trend. A higher absolute DATR value signifies a stronger trend.
Trend Reversal: A change in the direction of the DATR from positive to negative or vice versa may signal a potential trend reversal.
Volatility: Like the standard ATR, the DATR can be used to gauge market volatility, with larger absolute values indicating higher volatility and smaller values suggesting lower volatility.
Divergence: Divergence between the price and the DATR could signal a potential weakening of the trend and an upcoming reversal.
Overbought/Oversold Levels: Extreme DATR values can be used to identify overbought or oversold market conditions, signaling potential reversals or corrections.
Please note that the Directional ATR is just an indicator, and the interpretations provided are based on its underlying logic.
It is essential to combine the DATR with other technical analysis tools and test the indicator on historical data before using it in your trading strategy. Additionally, consider other factors such as risk management, and your own trading style.
Correlated ATR Bands | AdulariHow do I use it?
Never use this indicator as standalone trading signal, it should be used as confluence.
It is highly recommended to use this indicator on the 15m timeframe and above, try experimenting with the inverse feature and multipliers as well.
When the price is above the moving average this shows the bullish trend is strong.
When the price is below the moving average this shows the bearish trend is strong.
When the moving average is purple, the trend is bullish , when it is gray, the trend is bearish.
When price is above the upper band this may indicate a bearish reversal.
When price is below the lower band this may indicate a bullish reversal.
Features:
Purple line for bullish trend and gray line for bearish trend.
Custom formula combining an ATR and Hull MA to clearly indicate trend strength and direction.
Unique approach to moving averages and bands by taking the average of 2 types of MA's combined with custom ATR's, then multiplying these by correlation factors.
Bands to indicate possible trend reversals when price crosses them.
How does it work?
1 — ATR value is calculated, then the correlation between the source and ATR is calculated.
2 — Final value is calculated using the following formula:
correlation * atr + (1 - correlation) * nz(atr , atr)
3 — Moving average is calculated with the following formula:
ta.hma((1-(correlation/100*(1+weight/10)))*(ta.sma(source+value, smoothing)+ta.sma(source-value,smoothing))/2,flength)
4 — Bands calculation using multipliers.
wnG - VWAP MOD Modified version of VWAP :
Classic VWAP with 6 levels based on the Average True Range to identify the distance and distribution of the prices around the VWAP.
There are 2 calcul methodologies for the bands
- Last 24 Hours Average True Range
- Progressive Average True Range starting from 00:00
As prices tend to move around the VWAP level, favor LONG positions in the GREEN ZONE (and SHORT in the RED ZONE).
How to use it :
Avoid taking long position when price is in the RED ZONE
Avoid taking short position when price is in the GREEN ZONE

ATR BandsIn many strategies, it's quite common to use a scaled ATR to help define a stop-loss, and it's not uncommon to use it for take-profit targets as well. While it's possible to use the built-in ATR indicator and manually calculate the offset value, we felt this wasn't particularly intuitive or efficient, and could lead to the potential for miscalculations. And while there are quite a few indicators that plot ATR bands in some form or another already on TV, we could not find one that actually performed the exact way that we wanted. They all had at least one of the following gaps:
The ATR offset was not configurable (usually hard-coded to be based off the high or low, while we generally prefer to use close)
It would only print a single band (either the upper or lower), which would require the same indicator to be added twice
The ATR scaling factor was either not configurable or only stepped in whole numbers (often time fractional factors like 1.5 yield better results)
To that end, we took to making this enhanced version to meet all of the above requirements. While we were doing so, we decided to take this opportunity to also make some non-functional enhancements as well:
Updated the indicator to the most recent version of Pine
Updated the indicator definition to allow alternate (non-chart) timeframe usage
Made the input types explicitly defined to improve consistency
Updated the inputs with appropriate minimum values and step sizes where appropriate
Separated settings into logical groups
Added helptext to the indicator settings noting usage and common settings values
Explicitly titled the on-chart plots of the ATR bands so that they can more easily be identified and referenced in other indicators/scripts, as well as the Data Window
Food for thought : When looking at some of the behaviors of these ATR bands, you can see that when price first levels out, you can draw a "consolidation zone" from the first peak of the upper ATR band to the first valley of the lower ATR band that price will generally respect. Look for price to break and close outside of that zone. When that happens, price will usually (but not always) make a notable move in that direction, which can be used as either a potential trigger or as an additional confluence with other indicators/price action.
Finally, while we have made what we feel are some noteworthy updates and enhancements to this indicator, and have every intention of continuing to do so as we find worthy opportunities for enhancement, credit is still due to the original author: AlexanderTeaH
