Current forecasts suggest a 25 basis point increase by the UK regulator to 4.75%, while the Swiss authorities are likely to keep it unchanged at 1.50%. The day before the meeting of the Bank of England in the UK, the publication of May statistics on consumer inflation is expected, which is unlikely to significantly affect the decision of the regulator, but will be interesting for further analysis. At the moment, forecasts suggest a slowdown in inflation in the UK from 8.7% to 8.5% in annual terms and from 1.2% to 0.4% in monthly terms. In the United States on Wednesday, June 21, speeches by representatives of the US Federal Reserve are expected, as well as a speech by the Chair of the regulator, Jerome Powell, in the US Congress. Officials are expected to give some signals in favour of a possible renewed increase in borrowing costs in July.
