There have been three instances where the price deviated significantly from the 200 EMA which was then followed by a correction of price back to the 200 EMA line, as follows:
June '17: 315% deviation from 200 EMA
Sept '17: 105% deviation
Jan '18: 215% deviation
Other price deviations from the 200 EMA have lead to consolidation and eventual further price increases.
Current price is about 40% above 200 EMA and riding the 50 EMA. If ETH continues to grow in strength during 2018 which it is likely to do given the development community and partnerships then it is likely price will once again deviate from the 200 EMA in the coming months. Look out for deviations above 100% to take profits and buy back in on dips.
